Bread
I'm an infidel baker-- I rarely measure things accurately but judge the doughs and batters I go along, kind of hoping for the best, which usually works. Following baking recipes exactly gets me into trouble, since humidity, moisture content of flour and eggs, barometric pressure, freshness of ingredients... all conspire to screw you up anyway.

So, here's my latest bread concoction, with approximate ingredients

2 cups bread flour
2 eggs
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp yeast
1 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp caraway seeds

2-3 tbsp each of:

instant potatoes
soy flour
vital gluten flour
wheat germ
flax seeds
Bob's Red Mill 10 Grain Cereal
oatmeal

(I'm out of honey and powdered milk, but they would go in too.)

I throw it all in the bread machine with around a cup of water. While it's mixing, I add water as needed. I might let it bake in the bread machine, or I might stick it in an oven after the bread machine does the hard work-- I have a great oversized toaster oven that holds one big loaf or two small ones.

1. Every baker should be an infidel baker
because the moisture content of flour varies so widely to make precise measurement impossible one week to the next.

As for your concoction, you've boosted the protein content so much that all you need with a slab of that bread are a salad and bowl of veggie broth, you've already got your daily protein in the bread.

My favorite breads, soups, stews, chilis, and stir fries have always been the clean out the fridge variety.

2. I'm like that too
Partly because I just can't help myself, I have to tinker and do something different. And I agree with Warpy. With all the different sources of protein and fiber you've added, that's just about a whole-meal loaf of bread there!

3. It is fun to play around
and experiment. It sounds pretty good.

My bread machine is dead to me! Got it for a wedding gift and I never used it but the husband did a few times. Never really made a really good loaf of bread, just passable really. It's sitting on the table with all the booklets waiting to be put out on craigslist. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. The oven works so much better!

4. Well, I'm not impressed with the loaves it makes, but...
this one I found for 10 bucks at the thrift shop does a pretty good job of mixing and kneading without any mess or fuss. Then I have the choice whether to give the dough some final touchup before the final rise and throw it in the oven.

Considering that breadmaking is at least a three hour process, I'm happy for the thing to finish the job if I have to run off somewhere. It's convenient that way, like a crockpot.
