Has anyone ever heard of wine from Trinity County, CA? I never did. This is from Hyampom Valley.

It was recommended by our (very knowledgeable) wine store. Here's the link to vintner's site. The wine is, in my humble view, way better than they describe.

A mere 435 cases were bottled. I am going to try to get one of them.

We had this tonight with a hugely flavored shrimp in garlic with cherry tomatoes, herbs, lemon, and white wine served over penne. We also had a homemade focaccia with rosemary, lots of garlic, and thin, thin, thin sliced onions. It baked to the point of caramelizing the onions.

The wine was perfect.

1. Trinity has good wine
so do some of the Oregonian valleys just a tad further north

at least they did when I was a wine snob.

watch out for the Oregonian wines though, the grape name will not be what you expect in flavor compared to the same type grapes as a California vintage

2. Wine!
Oh, I miss having wine! I'm so jealous! I can almost taste it!

Glad it was so wonderful. :hi:
