I don't want to have to buy the book.

I am always looking for ways to make my homemade bread less time-consuming and more suited to baking when I get home in the evening rather than needing all day on a weekend.

2. Oh no! Did we break it?!!!??
Reading the recipe on the DU link brought something to mind....

Ain5 says to use 'spring water' (bottled water), which I don't ordinarily have. Theory being that typical tap water has chlorine in it, which kills the yeast. I bought a jug and used it the first time, but the next few times, I FORGOT to use bottled water. Made no difference at all, but I think our water is very good from mountain aquifer and doesn't have much chlorination.

Anybody have any notes on this?

3. I use whatever is handy. But the better the ingredients the better the results, right?
If your water is good I wouldn't make an extra effort to get bottled.

5. If you don't buy the book
you're missing out on so many wonderfully delicious things. It's one that's well worth having.

8. Well, I'm screwn until early March. Just called them to check on it
and they are moving into their new library as we speak, so no interlibrary loan for me. :(

The bright side is that we will now be able to get to the library without having to contend with the tourist traffic! :D I'll be happy about that later though. Right now I'm basking in my misery.
