Julia Child's "French Cooking" DVD series
I just got a notice from Jessica's Bisucit, one of my favorite cookebood sources, that Julia's "French Chef" DVD series is now available. It's on 3 DVDs totalling 432 minutes and covers 18 episodes. The DVDs are priced separately but total about $100 for all 3. Kinda pricey for lots of us but mmaybe a good item to put on a Christmas list. Here are the links:
Bon Appetit!

1. I would love to get that.
I would also love to see if there are copies of Dinner with Julia that was done in the early 80s. Everyone I know loved that series. Sundays were big get-togethers with friends & children. A bunch of us would either meet at someone's house or at the park & we'd have a BBQ/potluck etc. We all had to make sure that we left in plenty of time to get home, have a shower, do homework & then settle down in front of the TV for Dinner With Julia. Most of us didn't have any extra money & couldn't have afforded to do her dinners (busy paying mortgages & raising children) but man, we loved to watch.

2. Netflix has these available for rent
I ordered the first disc of The French Chef and Netflix advised that there's a very long wait. Should be fun when it finally gets here.

3. Curiously, there's no wait for the third disk or...
the second series.

I've got all six in the queue, but they start at #110, so I'll see them next year some time.
