1. that is extremely interesting
I wonder who is behind it and whether they are making any money off the product placement throughout.

2. There were pics posted yesterday of the First Lady hosting a meal
The pics were from the blog for the Press Office of the White House. The luncheon was held at Teresa Heinz's farmhouse in PA. So I searched for info on the farmhouse to see if could find pictures of it and this blog turned up in the Google search. I presumed it was sponsored by the Wh but now you have me wondering. I didn't even notice the ads. Doh!

I would still like to find pictures of the Heinz farm. I bet it's interesting.

3. I Had a Problem With This Blog
Edited on Mon Sep-28-09 12:50 PM by NashVegas
When it proclaims Michelle Obama as the official leader of the US food movement.

Where was Michelle when John Robbins was writing "Diet for a New America?"

When food activists swamped the USDA with hundreds of thousands of protesting letters over the proposed weakening of organic foods standards?

When Maine, Vermont, and milk producers in other states were getting sued by Monsanto?

When Deborah Koons Garcia was making "The Future of Food"?

When Percy Meisner was fighting for his livelihood?

When Michael Pollan was writing his books?

Or when the thousands of other lesser-known activists across the US were rallying their communities?

I don't know the answers to all those questions. I know she was on the board of Tree House Foods, a Wal-Mart supplier. I know that when one of the real leaders in food activism called out the White House on mercury levels in the organic garden, the blog's author ranted about whacktavists.

So I see that blog as being about marketing the idea that what Michelle says and does about food is gospel, more than anything of use to me.
