Allo C&B! What's for dinner tonight?
Bill is making twice cooked pork for a friend of ours....I will probably roast veggies for myself.

What's for dinner where you are?

Black Bean, Garbanzo and Swiss Chard Soup
Enlivened by tomato, chile peppers, hominy, carrot, celery, onion, lots of garlic. Hearty, healthy, and full of fiber. I crave this when I need a megadose of vitamins. Cornbread on the side. :hi:

6. Sounds delicious.
And good for you :) The recipe is a can of this and palm full of that... I'd like to make it, without the hominy. I've never made hominy. :P

16. If you like tamales or grits, you might enjoy hominy.
I'm mad for it, but know many who can't abide the taste.

10. I love broccoli and don't eat enough of it.
Bill is anti cruciferious veggies and I never think to buy any :( He's got that weird gene where they all taste dirty to him...or something like that. :)

7. CT's minestrone on the stove simmering...
and some fresh bread. Everybody's says they're starving but I think it's because they've been smelling the minestrone. :)

8. Bill is eating leftover wedding soup and bread.
I ate a honey crisp apple. I've lost 19lbs. since October and my blood sugar is finally under control so I'm working on keeping it that way with food so I can get off the meds eventually.

:*

14. made a pot of pinto beans
w/ bacon, garlic, cilantro, cumin, and one canned, seeded chipotle pepper left over from the hot sauce experiment. Beans cooked a lot faster than I expected - only soaked an hour or so, and they were done in an hour and a half.

for navy beans. Dunno why. I'd love some corn bread with your pot o beans. :)
