peas and hominy
That's what we had for dinner the other night. I think we all need more peas and hominy.

2. Here it's beans and hominy
in a sauce made with huge amounts of red or green chile, thickened with cornmeal.

3. I would love some peas & hominy.
Posted in the lounge for the first time in weeks (before that it was months) & just got the most snippy response.

Bring on the peace & harmony & a bourbon & water or a sidecar or a perfect manhattan to go with please. :)

best

4. That happened to me the other day, too
So I replied with a smiley of people snoring on a couch along with a wav file of some great snoring. His-trollness never replied to that. Needless to say, I came right back here. I don't feel good about my reply. But I'm beginning to wonder how many trolls there are with very high post counts. That's why these other forums are so helpful. There's always someplace to go to visit with like minded DUers.

Btw, a perfect manhattan sounds really good! Can I have 2 cherries with mine, pleeeze?

5. unfortunately, or maybe fortunately
the thread was locked by the time I got back so I couldn't reply. It just ticked me off because s/he willfully ignored my point.

Darlin' you can have as many cherries as you like. In fact I only drink them for the cherries. Honest. No really. I don't even care about the bourbon. I just like Jack Daniels because I like the name. Really

6. hee!
okay - i admit it. i hit the maraschino cherry jar every once in a while. maybe i should just add a jigger of bourbon to to it?

my favorite bourbon is called rebel yell. i know nothing about the various kinds of bourbon. so, one day i was star gazing in the giant liquor store. so may bourbons, what's a girl to do? all of a sudden i hear this wonderful drawl behind me. the guy is saying "if yew want a good bourbon, trah some rebel yell. it's smyooooth." and darned if he wasn't right. but i buy it for the name. honest!!!

7. well,
I just put that name down on my to-buy list. Rebel Yell. That is a cool name. I have to be honest here. As you've figured out I love those bourbon soaked cherries. A gal I used to work w/ when I was just barely 21 & she was close to retirement got me hooked on Manhattans & I've been sucking them down ever since. Little did she know.

best.
