Edited on Tue Feb-15-11 11:45 AM by hedgehog
topped it with sweet cherries, then for a pièce de résistance, sprinkled slice almonds over the cherries....

then the little caterpillars in the almonds started moving.......

so he had a cheesecake with raspberry topping!

7. Most raw foods and cooked grains actualy contain insect eggs.
Let the stored corn meal, flour, crackers, etc get too warm and they'll hatch out.

4. So glad you caught it! I have, in the past, noticed too late the invaders in various
stored foods.

5. Thank goodness you caught them...
and you weren't serving guests, but I would imagine their appearance would take the romance out of a Valentine's evening.

10. Used to have an insectarium in the dry goods cupboard
Weevils, pantry moths...ya know. Then I started keeping opened packets of nuts, breadcrumbs etc in the freezer. Works a treat.

11. That's what I'm doing more and more. The bonus is that it's a lot easier
to find stuff and keep track of inventory because it's all right there in the refrigerator door.
