Pasta e Fagioli
Had to share this. As a kid in New York (and Dad probably still does) called it 'pastafazool!'

This is one of most filling meals I ever ate. Hard to have seconds even though it tastes so good.

3. My mom made it and called it that...
she's Sicilian and I am still learning the "real" names of things she made. There are a few things we still can't figure out. And we'll ask her and she'll say "Well, that's just what my mother called it."

I didn't realize other people didn't say basta until I left home.

4. That's what we always called it, too.
My grandma made it on a regular basis. It was delicious. She used navy beans rather than cannellini beans. I think I'm going to have to make some soon.
