At what age did your child stop napping?

I will miss the nap.

He usually naps for 2 to 3 hours a day. I think I will miss nap time when he stops taking them.

She still needs one, just won't take it. I miss the nap.

she took 2 a day up until she was about 3. Geez i miss those days.

I was lucky. He's always been a great napper. His little brother; not so much. At his age, my older son was still taking two naps a day. He barely takes one catnap in the afternoon. He won't be napping for very much longer, I'm afraid. I do think it varies quite a bit. Some kids need more sleep than others. I'm a stay at home mom, so naps are my breaktime. I'm really going to miss them.

I miss those days. My daughter has never slept much.

I, too, miss naps - theirs AND mine. How many times I've wished that if they didn't want to take a nap, could I pretty please have it instead?

Now it is avery two or three days or if we are in the car around 2-3. I really miss the daily!!! He still needs more sleep but he just isn't tired around 1-2 but by 5:30 he is exhausted and cranky and whiny. It is so hard to have a pleasant dinner these days. IF he takes a nap after 3 he's up until 10 or 11, even if he's in bed at 8.

We still put him in bed for his nap but now that he is in a toddler bed he just gets up and plays. Some days he'll lay back down and go to sleep but lately he's been sleeping during his "nap" less and less. It's not a welcome change since he's the earliest riser that I have (out of my 3) and is in bed after the girls ... not by much but the girls usually wake up together and with one in school they both need that sleep during the week. On non-weekend days my son usually goes to bed before they do.

I hated putting our son in a toddler bed and out of the crib but we really had no choice. He's the only one of my three who learned how to climb out of the crib - and do it safely!! There was no keeping him in after that point. So rather than risk him falling out of the crib and breaking something one day, we opted for the toddler bed. Gosh, it was so much easier when he was in a crib!!

Mine was and remains a great sleeper.

We put her in a bed when she was a couple months shy of 2 1/2 and she NEVER got out. She has always been a great sleeper. Well, after that first year of crying at 1 a.m. every night! ;)

I used the Ferber method. Slept through the nite at 6 weeks. Whenever she had a problem I used the Ferber method so the problem would only last 1 nite. I need my sleep so I was determined to have a good sleeper. Consistent bedtime, consistent bedtime routine routine plus Ferber.

She's now 12 and loves to sleep. No problem telling her it's bedtime. Boom, she's brushing the teeth and in bed.

My 2 and half year old daughter naps for 3 or more hours in the afternoon. Her dad stays home with her while I work and he is grateful for the nap. When I'm home with her, I agree. She went from a 2 hour nap to a three about 4 months ago and seems to need a lot of sleep lately. I hope that she'll continue to nap for another year or more. It really helps when you need to get things done without a toddler helping out.
