Conky questions (x2)

Hello. Just installed Conky onto my system (Ubuntu 64) and have a couple of questions:

1. The gradients don't seem to work.

CPU1: ${cpu cpu1}% ${cpugraph cpu1 10 100 black red}
CPU2: ${cpu cpu2}% ${cpugraph cpu2 10 100 black orange}
CPU3: ${cpu cpu3}% ${cpugraph cpu3 10 100 black teal}
CPU4: ${cpu cpu4}% ${cpugraph cpu4 10 100 black blue}

That's how I currently have the colors configured in my script. (I had been using hex values, eg 000000 00ffff, with and without the preceding # sign, and those did not work either)

2. The GPU temp indicator is working normally, but the CPU temp is stuck at 0. lm-sensors is installed. Could this be a permissions issue?

It's just your standard system monitor display thingy, right?

Have you looked at some sample config files? I checked out a couple just now, and it appears as though you are missing a color token, e.g.

Regarding the CPU temp indicator, 1) are you sure the physical temperature sensor is actually working, and 2) if so this is almost certainly an lm-sensors issue of some kind. Could be permissions. Try googling around with lm-sensors and your motherboard model as search terms.

2. Figured it out (extra comma betwee dimensions and gradient settings) -- thanks!

:)

Am still looking into lm-sensors -- looks like the CPU sensor doesn't exist (HDD and GPU do, however)

It's a tad bit annoying that punctuation errors are one of the main things that make computers not work properly. Who woulda thunk it?

As for lm-sensors, every system I've set up has required different things to get this to work properly. The newer your hardware, the more difficult this can be. There's generally not one solution that fits all cases, which is why it boils down to searching for information specific to your setup.
