Summary: Microsoft touches NASA and turns public data into privilege of proprietary software users only.

2. I hate plenty of politicians worse
Of course, it's like I hate cat shit worse than dog shit, the degree is miniscule. But Microsoft wouldn't get anywhere if those idiots weren't so ready to trade tongue baths for a few shekels (probably the most offensive thing about it is what cheap ass bastards they are. Workaday schlubs like you and me could muster the cash to swing a congressman's vote). I still have to lie down and breathe slowly whenever I realize most of our voting machines are corporate controlled black boxes.

4. I have to shut of my brain ...
I just can't think about the voting machines.

If ever anything screamed the high pitched wail of open-source, voting machines would be it. Contemplating what is actually done with them will give me an aneurysm.

I'd rather think about Windows CE in my toaster.

6. Roy Schestowitz is more bat shit crazy
than Linus. Perfect example of a zealot with no agenda other than "fuck Microsoft". I am sorry but he makes the Linux community look like asshats.

7. Linus isn't crazy ...

He's acerbic. :)

Now Stallman ... Stallman is crazy.

I don't know about this Schestowitz guy. I haven't really followed him. Why do you say he's so out there?

He really, really hates Novell it seems. He showed up on an openSuSE discussion group at a time when I was there and was in fact a bit irritating. IIRC, he was trying to argue we shouldn't be trying to troubleshoot the problems because that's what Novell wanted us to do ... didn't seem to make much sense.

But, deep down, the problems he has with Novell are similar to the ones I have. He may express it differently, or I may be nuts too. Dunno.

8. First Novell has been a god send to
my mixed platform environment. We have actually got rid of our RHEL and moved to SLES. But instead of seeing the merits in that this jack ass Don Quixote is off tumbling evil empires, or thinks he can. I really think he was shit canned by Novell or something to elicit this much hatred. And Linus isn't crazy, he just has moments of insanity peppered with moments of lucidity.

9. It's probably the purity thing ...

... something I've never bought into and doubt I ever will.

His thing in that group I mentioned was that Novell was using us as their beta testers for SLED. And I'm like, ummm, yeah. That's how it works. People with tons of money give provide funding so the free stuff keeps coming, and then they benefit from our experiences, bug reports, suggestions, etc.

But this was WRONG, he said. He has a Utopia vision thing going.

I'm sure he also has a problem with mono.

On reflection perhaps my problems with Novell aren't the same as his.
