Has anyone else played with ubuntu 10.04 Alpha yet?
I've been playing with it since alpha 1. Just done a fresh install this morning and it took 587 files to update so someone has been working their asses off. I added firefox 3.6 and thunderbird 3.01 and all is working great. The thing I can say for it is its fast, fast at boot, less than 20 seconds here, The computer does what you ask of it much faster than 9.10 so this version is going to be great. They're still talking about a 10 second boot time and if they pull that off, well, they'll be leaving windows in some cyber dust.
This Alpha 2 version I'm running seems to be very stable for an alpha release.

2. I'm on alpha 2 now
and just finished an update and we're on kernel 2.6.32.13, The developers are working their arses off looks to me like. I say after this next release of ubuntu 10.04 that micro$haft better watch out because ubuntu is ready for the big time and getting better by the day. Its almost like I have a new computer, (I have to look from time to time to make sure I don't :-).)

Shutdown is extremely fast, like a count of 1, 2 and its off, startup is less than 20 seconds from the grub. I'm loving it.
