It's an exceptionally good film.

2. History Channel showed it twice today
watched it both times... Now I have to go get the DVD. I remember watching it when it was first broadcast on A&E and loved it then.

Sadly, the commander in real life committed suicide not long after the war, he jumped off of a ship on its way to Cuba.
