UT soon will get notes on Deep Throat
08:00 PM CDT on Thursday, June 2, 2005
By KAREN BROOKS / The Dallas Morning News

AUSTIN – <snip>

But now that Deep Throat has been identified as former FBI official W. Mark Felt, the public can start answering the questions that were only secondary for so many years:

What did he tell Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, and how involved was he in the investigation that led to President Richard Nixon's downfall?

Those answers, now that Mr. Felt has identified himself publicly, will arrive soon at the University of Texas at Austin's Harry Ransom Center to join the historic collection known as the Watergate Papers – more than 100 boxes and bound volumes of notes, transcripts, tapes, phone logs and other memorabilia from the historic investigation in the early 1970s. <snip>

The collection was sold to UT for $5 million with the caveat that until Deep Throat died or revealed himself, notes about him would be withheld.
