Help, my iPod is stuck syncing!

Help, my iPod is stuck syncing!
I was syncing my iPod and iTunes has frozen up! The iPod says "Do not disconnect"! Is it going to screw up something if I kill the iTunes application? What actually happens if you disconnect?

And I've never had a problem disconnecting the iPod in the middle of that.

Worst case scenario, you have to wipe the iPod - and you've got all your music and playlists already saved on your computer. You don't lose a thing.

But like I said, that's never happened to me in the two dozen or so times I've locked up.

2. I just tried that.
It's disconnected and the iPod is still saying "Do not disconnect". It won't turn off. What happened with yours when you disconnected? Did the message stop?
