Embedding YouTube videos?
When one embeds a YouTube video, does it somehow, in some miraculous, "magic box" kinda way that newbies such as myself have no idea about, generate "hits" at the YouTube page. Or, does one have to visit the YouTube page directly to generate views/page hits?

I did a video trailer for a book I'm trying to get published as part of a marketing promo campaign. Showing potential interest via page views is important for this reason. That's why I wonder about the wisdom of having it embedded at the book's website and other sites.

BTW, the quality at vimeo.com is soooooooo much better than at YouTube (IMHO). But again, the page hits YouTube can bring for marketing purposes is important.

Thanks. :)
