Anyone have any suggestions for a good dupe file locator/cleaner, preferably free?

A friend's laptop is getting close to capacity and I'd
like to start with cleaning out the duplicate files.
I know how to clean out the temp files and such, I just
want to look for files that might be stored in more than
one location.

The good part about it is it won't delete system or needed files as some I've tried will.
