Having a weird problem with emailed pics.
Being fairly new to computers I often come up against something that baffles me. So far I've been able to call folks with a bit more experience and they've been able to help. But this one is stumping them, too.

I emailed a picture to a friend, and she says that when she clicked on "print" it came up - with about 500 others. Huh? I went over to her house, she opened the email, clicked on the picture and sure enough, the screen filled with thumbnails of pictures; she had to scroll through it to find the one I'd sent.

This is a new computer, so there are fewer than 20 pics that I've saved to my picture file. And, yes, those are among the hundreds that come up. Where did the others come from?

Most important - what am I doing wrong? Any help that can be offered would be very much appreciated, so thanks in advance!

1. Maybe you attached the folder, rather than the individual file? n/t

2. I dunno.
Thanks for responding, by the way.

Typically, I just click on 'attach', do the browse thing, select the pic I want and attach it. Is that wrong? Am I missing a step somewhere?

3. I just went through the process and....
at least with my program, you have to click a file - can't click a folder - so that's probably not what happened with you, as I think that process is rather universal.

Sorry, hopefully someone much smarter than me will help you out. Good luck! :)

4. I Don't Know What E-Mail Program Your Friend Is Using...
but with some programs attachments (files/pics/vids)are placed in a temporary folder when you open them directly from an e-mail. Your friend probably closed some e-mails before closing the pictures they contained and the temporary files were not cleared.

5. The application assigned for Print functionality...

for .png, .bmp or what ever type of image file, has been assigned to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. The browser is downloading the image to a temporary folder that contains many other cached graphics. Picture and Fax Viewer allows you to page between all the images in a folder (and after a lot of browsing, that will be several hundred).

That is my guess to what is happening, based on your description.

I have seen this happen while using Yahoo's web based email.
