Opinions regarding showing emails on websites?

I know many are showing encrypted emails such as blahblah (at) gmail (dot) com to fool the spambots, or just using contact forms rather than showing email, but I'm wondering how prevalent of a problem it is, especially on blogs through blogger, for example?

Do you recommend not showing the email addresses?

1. Consider these things.

There are programs you can buy which lets you gather just the emails from websites.

There are times that one is otherwise forced to post an email.

Use this (or the many other free work-alikes you can find) to obfuscate ones email from those programs:
