Windows Live OneCare?

I have 90 days free with my new laptop (which I love now more than ever):

So, I'm still handling it like a new born baby but getting rather comfortable, except for the welcome screen that keeps prompting me to extend Windows Live OneCare. I have programs I use on my desktop that I will install but I want to settle this one first. It offers Backup and Restore along with the virus and spyware monitoring, Firewall, Phishing Filter... It's not expensive and I do need something. I won't use Norton after the damage it caused my desktop. If it's at least benign, I'd like to try it along with Spybot and Adaware. But I'm worried about issues. Has anyone had problems, or found it to be worthwhile?

Edit: Notebook is a Sony Vaio (if it makes a difference)

Since I can use it on all the computers on my home network with one license and it sets up a central backup device and backs up necessary files easily, it's a good answer for me.

I'm going to renew my license.
