about expiring domains....
There is a domain that is set to expire on Monday that I've been waiting for a few months (I contacted the owner a year ago but they said they were going to use it; they still have it simply parked at GoDaddy).

I don't think they are gaugers; then again, if they sense that I really, really want this domain, I fear they'll become selfish even if they aren't using it.

Does anyone have experience with getting domains that are about to expire, assuming they DON'T renew it, that is?

I keep reading horror stories that it takes months, it goes to auction, etc., etc.

I'm wondering since I have a GoDaddy account and since it's parked at GoDaddy if there's something available via that route (I did read at GoDaddy but, honestly, I get confused as all get-out there...it's busy like MySpace and my brain freezes...some weird mental block when I'm at that site).

Thanks. :)

1. Don't count on it, but GoDaddy will help you grab it for a price...
Everything godaddy does is for a price, but if you lower your expectations and accept that they are flaming libertarians before you do any business with them they are quite predictable, sort of like the Ferengi of Star Trek.

It's actually irritating as hell if you are on the wrong end of one of these deals because there's usually some clown with a formula for grabbing up domain names that owners accidently let expire so they can sell them back at inflated prices.
