Anyone here familiar with Sound Forge ?
I'm using Sound Forge 7.

I copied an album from a turntable into sound forge as a wave file.
The size is about 700 meg.
I want to separate the songs and make a separate Wave file for each song.
I know this sounds simple but I've messed with it for 3 F*cking hours and still can't figure out how to do it.
Sound Forge help section is Suck-Ola...

I'm getting ready to chop up the the Sound Forge Disks and send them (with a stick of Dynamite) back to Sony. :)

2. Been a while since I used it, but...
You should be able to click and drag in the "window" showing the waveform and timeline and drag from the start to the end of each song. Then copy and paste into a new window and use "save as".

4. Make sure
your sample rate is the same in the new file.
IOW, if your original sample rate is 44.1, the new file has to be 44.1.

how did you hook up your turntable to your computer? Did you go directly from turntable to computer or did you use a receiver then turntable?

6. It'll be a bit tedious to do in Sound Forge...
I believe you'll have to manually cut each song and "save as"...But here's a program (Waveknife) that's free and will do exactly what you are asking it to do:

I came across this one night when researching solutions to exactly the same situation...(I sent the guy a nice e-mail thanking him for the program.)
