Question about firefox
I've used to using IE so bare with me, please. In firefox when I refresh a page it takes several resizings of that page where as with IE it always came up and never needed to be resized. How do I set the du pages where they don't have to keep resizing every time they reload? I'm using mint 7 now and like it but I don't like this feature about firefox.
I hope what I'm asking is clear if not let me know and I'll try to explain it again differently :-)

1. Ummm ....

Explain differently. :)

I've never had to re-size anything when refreshing a page, so I'm having trouble conceptualizing what you're asking.

Do you mean the whole window has to be resized?

2. Two things I can think of
One is that Firefox opens and it's just a tiny window in the corner - happens to me sometimes, but usually resizing makes it OK.

The second may have to do with the web page you are viewing and how the site was built. DU pages load for me as an 'elastic' page, that is, I can have a narrow window or a wide one, but the content flows and re-sizes itself to fit the width.

Can't really say about IE as I only use an older version to check web page layouts and it all operates the same as Firefox.

4. Thats what I'm talking about
the resizing of the window. With IE DU pages would load with out any resizing at all but with firefox it has to every visit to the page. That is the biggest reason I never liked firefox in the first place but now that I'm switching to using linux I guess I had better get used to it cause I sure do like linux.

Its kind of like the page has to squirm around a little before it settles down kind of like an old dog circling around looking for just the right place to lay down :-)

3. As a newbie to Linux Mint
I would try using mintinstall to search for firefox and then highlight it within that package manager and select "remove" and then afterwards "install." See if that helps. If not, there is a "remove completely" options which will wipe out your bookmarks and options settings and such. Before going that far, I would troubleshoot by disabling all the add-ons in case there is some bugginess being introduced by one of them.
