BEWARE! Softsdeal.com sells counterfit software from China

I had been referred by a work colleague to this new online site as I needed a copy of MS office and thought there might be some deals on the 07 version, given that MS Office 2010 is about to be released. Admittedly, I should not have trusted a new online web site, but there were no reviews and I was able to pay by paypal rather than give a credit card number (which always frightens me online). That said, their prices were low, but not so low that it would have been obvious their software was not legit.

Four weeks later and after not only not receiving MS Office, but rather a fraudulent copy of Windows 7, and after all my inquiries have been ignored, I finally see one other complaint filed online:

BEWARE: Our company ordered online from Softsdeal and just received 5 edititions of Office 2007 Pro and 1 edition of Win 2007...ALL COUNTERFEIT !!! Microsoft Genuine Advantage confirmed the Keycodes are stolen and the products are fraudulant. On the physical packaging the COA's are missing the Microsoft authentication thread and the Microsoft hologram is printed on a sticker attached to the CD rather than printed on the CD itself. Microsoft will not register the products. We are attempting to obtain refund through Paypal. Our company is not willing to support theft and has submitted a report to Microsoft. So, it seems I am not alone. I am working with Microsoft (as is this other person) to have them investigated.. I have also filed with paypal, but doubt they will do anything. BEWARE! Softsdeal.com is located in Shanghai, China (though they will not tell you this on their website). Although they "guarantee" certified original authentic software, it is counterfit. I will also be filing a complaint with the US Postal service, given that they used international mail to defraud.

If DUers want to do all of us a favor, do a little google bombing with keywords "softsdeal.com and Fraud" or "softsdeal.com and counterfit" or "softsdeal.com and beware!" I would like to see them banished as soon as possible before others are taken. Thanks ;)

Everything I've bought from them is legit and has authenticated.

I know you face some risk when you look for bargains, but this one hurt. :shrug:
