I've run my MS Security but still suspect a virus--symptoms:
I just typed an e-mail in Outlook, then used the spell-checker and it was catching nearly every word I typed and suggesting some bizarre, some ordinary alternatives. In addition, I am running Pandora radio in the background and when I try to type in an artist or song, my 'puter freezes although Pandora keeps broadcasting.

I ran a full scan this morning but the problems persist. I will add here that my credit card was used fraudulently last week; the bank thinks they got the number from an online sale (bought my son an online game from Big Fish Games--I know, shoulda known better).

Everything else seems to work just fine so far--any advice is welcome, thanks in advance!

1. I'd start with Malwarebytes
Download the free copy here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Install and run a full scan and let us know what it finds. Also let us know if you have any troubles installing it - some nasties prevent proper installation and you need to do a clean out and install in safe mode.

3. Decided to run it through Firefox which I hadn't even thought of before and it's running fine now!
I have to use IE for school but much prefer FF and just hadn't installed it on the new machine yet.

Thanks.
