How can I make Firefox display images?
Ever since I have been using Firefox (i.e. for years, through numerous upgrades) it will not display certain images, such as the results of a Google image search (I see only empty frames) or the contents of Facebook albums (when I click to enlarge an image, all I see is a black rectangle). Other images and icons display fine, but to use Google image search or Facebook I have to bring up Opera, which displays all images including these with no problems.

There are some things about Firefox that I like, and I would like to continue using it. Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to make these missing images appear? It seems strange that at this point in Web history one of the most popular browsers consistently fails at such a fundamental task as displaying images. Or am I doing something wrong?

Any help appreciated.

1. I don't know but
If you open Firefox and click on Tools and then Options and then under Content they do have a place that needs to be checked for "load images automatically." You might want to check out the Exceptions part of that as well to see what it isn't allowing.

2. It the early days of wireless data
when cellular wireless was slower than dial-up, I often disabled the displaying of images just to speed things up. But I've never seen Firefox disable images by default. Might want to check your settings.

3. It might also be that the images that are displayed
And that you are not seeing are images made with newer versions of the same programs you have.

For instance, when I haven't updated "Photoshop" or Acrobat Reader in a while, then I cannot see many of the images. Like you say, I just get a little boxy icon of "nothing" where the image should be.

I am probably the least knowledgeable of anyone on this forum, so please feel free to correct me if this thought of mine is wrong.
