1. I D/L'd the 903mb x64 .exe in 10 mins...

Installed in 35 mins, took 12-15 mins to configure. Under an hour total. Of course, I did this @ 1:30 AM to avoid the rush. I've read that some who chose to install thru WinDOZE Updates took 3-4 hrs due to Micro$oft'$ servers getting SLAMMED yesterday.

D/L link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyId=C3202CE6-4056-4059-8A1B-3A9B77CDFDDA&hash=v0TrBBieelSzmasgNgqDcMs5hTFt/qAR3rbEdva7wnIHwcs8GIqOxtlVS3F52bjAPc6e0OfNDsrTSAoxd1HCCw%3d%3d

I'm gonna d/l the all inclusive 1900mb ISO, burn it and pass it around to family & friends. Just gotta figure out the best way (ImgBurn?) & Media (DVD+R?) and what speed (slowest?)

2. I *thought* the download was slow
Anyone have a comprehensive list of what's covered in SP1?

3. Much ado about nothing. Mostly placebo, IMO.

Information about Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2

More information about Service Pack 1

Consumer end-users can find information about what is included in Windows 7 SP1 at the following Microsoft website:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/whats-included-in-windows-7-service-pack-1-sp1

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an important update that includes previously released security, performance, and stability updates for Windows 7. SP1 also includes new improvements to features and services in Windows 7, such as improved reliability when connecting to HDMI audio devices, printing using the XPS Viewer, and restoring previous folders in Windows Explorer after restarting.

What really sucks is that I'm running 7 Home Premium OEM version (Gateway) and I cannot slipstream the SP like I've done dozens of times with XP.

4. Also found this....SP1 supposedly cracks down on "pirated" versions.
This Copy of Windows is not Genuine - Windows 7

In the comments section by the author: Windows has tightened the activation bypass test in Service pack 1 due to which, unregistered copies are facing this problem.
