1. Unlike other pieces of software like say an office suite
web browsers attach to the Internet and as such are susceptible to all kinds of security risks (viruses, worms, trojans, etc.) so I recommend that people always run the current version of whatever browser they use.

2. Thank You... But Here's The Problem. Just Started Using FB & When I Try To
download pictures or to do various other things of this type, I get the message. I also got a message saying that my current FLASH is out of date. I have new small Nikon camera and I downloaded it to my PC so I figured THAT would take care of it all.

What it seems is that IF the pictures don't come directly from my camera, such as ones selected from others areas, I get the message. I have heard comments made about browsers upgrades, but given that I need to use my current browser to download pictures to FB this is when I encounter the problem.

I also signed up for UStream 99, which I can watch through a LiveStream connection, but can't cross post to my FB because of the update browser notice. I CAN work around all of this, I have gotten pictures to post on FB, but am having problems creating an album. This I think is because I don't have the updated Flash program. Not sure which Flash program would be best either. I had Adobe, but I see a free one that says it's the best one for Internet Explorer.

As you can see I'm no "techy" just trying to ED-JU-MI-CATE myself a little more. I don't use my PC for anything other than communicating and/or pictures. I never even bought Power Point because I didn't want to spend the money.

Sorry for this lengthy reply, just felt a need to explain my concerns. But as I'm wont to do, I probably "splained" too much.

Thanks for any input... again!

3. I get those kind of messages a lot

because I'm running Noscript, a Firefox extension that blocks websites from loading scripts onto your computer unless they are approved. Sometimes websites can't tell if you are blocking scripts or using an outdated browser version. I get the warning and then if I want that site to work correctly I have to allow at least some of the scripts to run by adding them to the whitelist. Check your settings, especially those that control flash and scripts. Make sure your browser is up to date and install the latest Adobe Flash.

4. OOOO-Kay... Check My Settings. What Do I Look For When I Check
them? I have never done that, it was always done by the computer company I use for PC problems. I did have Adobe Flash, but don't know what happened to it. I was using a different PC and had my programs transferred by the PC company. HE told me not to mess around with anything. Guess he realized how little I know. Anyway, I do know some things but have NEVER fooled around with any settings.

I have Adobe and do update when requested, I have AVG and Malware protection. I have a feeling I have more media programs downloaded than I need like Windows, Quicktime & Apple software, but there were put on for me. Geeez, I really hate it when I have to ask for help. My daughter keeps telling me I need to switch over to an Apple laptop, but hey I'm not going to spend ANY extra money for anything I don't HAVE to have. Would really LOVE one, but this one will have to do. I have no idea what a white list is and DIDN'T want to do FB except it was needed to keep in touch with OWS meetings and updates. Makes me wonder just HOW MANY people know things about me since I started with them because I may have made mistakes regarding posts and information.

So, I will download the latest Adobe Flash, and I guess I can call the place to fine out about updating my browser.

Thank you.... from a :dunce:!

5. should be under the settings tab or maybe it's called preferences
I don't have IE nor even Windows so perhaps someone else can provide more detail. For example, under Firefox there's a tab called preferences and under that is content and under that is box to enable/disable javascripting. Look also under anything that looks like it might have something to do with privacy or security.

Push comes to shove, try installing Firefox or Chromium as backup browsers. It might turn out that you like them better than IE.

6. Thanks A Lot For The Info... Sorry It Took Me So Long To Get Back To
you. Had a small interruption and had to go pick someone up. I will check things out now. I do know of a preference drop down which might be helpful. Appreciate it.
