MSFT Office Word . . .

My MSFT Office Word "office assistant" (animated cartoon character) no longer has sound. Dunno what happened or why! My wife uses it and she wants the sound back.

I right click on the animated cartoon character "office assistant" to bring up the "office assistant" pop-up. I then hit option > make sounds > okay. Then up pops this message: "! Office Assistant: Assistant Sound Effects cannot be enabled at this time. Try turning it on from the Microsoft Agent Property Sheet."

Well. I'd love to. However, WHERE is it? And how can I find it? Doncha love Bill Gates? Gads. Folks must toss flowers his way 24/7.

Go into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and find Office. You should be able to perform a Repair/Reinstall of Office from there. Also visit:

http://officeupdate.microsoft.com

to automatically download & install all the latest patches for your version of Office.

Any time I see it I want to reach through the computer and make it die a long slow and painful death.

That office assistant was so funny, that it was worth it. They didn't make it available for later versions.
