Customize Google and FireFox
This has to be one of the best extensions I have found other than AdBlock for FireFox it's called Customize Google. It will block the adds on google and it also installs many other search engines at the top of the Google page to choose from.
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/?application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}

Now if you want to make websites a little more fun to read you can customize your font and colors. This is not a new feature but I just found it so lay off me Jeeeeeeez.
Go to Tools...Options....General...Fonts and Colors and check it out.

1. Hate to rain on your parade, but Opera can do that right out of the box
Now that Opera is free, I'm hoping more people will check it out and see how much it offers without ever having to download anything else.

4. ESPN.com and Opera
FWIW, I've been playing around with Opera since the freebie announcement because I was told it is a bit different than the last version I tried. (And, it is. Some of the details that bugged me about Opera are fixed/gone/managed in this version.) Note that what I say here is based on using the Linux version. I'm not going to bother with it under Windoze because I rarely web browse with Windoze anymore.

This version will work with ESPN.com, sorta. The page initially doesn't want to render properly, but it hacks and coughs and eventually throws it out there. It is much slower than the way FF renders the pages initially, but after that initial rendering, it seems to go fine. I gather both from this and previous experiences with ESPN's website that there is something very non-standard about the way it is put together. It's one of the few sites I've found that consistently renders better and more quickly in IE than any other browser I've used.

I still can't use Opera with my banking site, and FF has no issues with it at all, so, for me personally, it's a non-starter right there. I don't really understand it either because my bank has purposely tried to construct its site to conform to standards that allow any modern browser to use it. They even advertise this. I can't get past the login page, so something got missed somewhere, either with the way Opera handles secure forms or the way the website presents the page and/or form.

Anyway ... just random thoughts and observations.

6. I know ... sorry ...
I'm not wanting to get into the "browser war" element either. I'd just seen you mention the problem with ESPN.com before, had tested that out recently, and so thought I'd mention it.

Back to the subject, thanks for the extension recommendation. :-)

7. The really cool thing about this...
is that technorati (blogs) is one of the search choices.

No more Open Bookmarks, scroll to technorati.com, open in a new window, and click crap.

Little things mean a lot.

Thanks!
