Easy website building software?

Anyone know of any good ones? Something easy that doesn't require a lot of HTML knowledge, but not something real cheesy. Whether I have to download it on CNET or buy it, just something nice and easy. kind of like a 'drag and drop' program if you know what i mean.

2. Microsoft Word ... create your document and then save it as an html file ... to view it in a browser, just click "File" then open and point to the html file you saved

3. you can learn html by studying any existing web page ... in IE, go to any web page and then click "View" and then "Source" ... the html code for the page is then displayed ... in Firefox, choose "View" and then "Page Source"

5. if you want to spend money on web building software, and you could just build your HTML files with Notepad or Word, a fairly easy product to learn and use is Microsoft Frontpage ...

hope this helps ... there are all sorts of other alternatives ... one thing to keep in mind is that there are many "layers of learning" for websites ... the easy stuff is just HTML ... after that, you can start learning how to use graphics tools, e.g. photoshop, and you can learn javascript and other scripting languages ... nobody knows it all ... learning 10 or 15 html tags is a good place to start ...

Microsoft word will produce html, but its a mongrel. Learning to code with a text editor is fine, but steep learning curve if you are new to it. Good luck.

The code is horrible. The freeware web builder sounds interesting. Also, you might want to check out this site to keep up with the web standards and take advantage of their free tutorials. The tutorials are excellent.

Both are very easy to use. They can help you to learn the HTML too, because when you use a tool to add a feature, you can then look at the code behind it and see how it works.

I am just now using http://www.alleycode.com/ to edit and update a site. I haven't gotten into all of the features yet.

Is simple and easy to use. I use it on my websites and have run into no problems. You can preview and work in code.
