How to use a cat bed properly

This is how my gray kitty, Tabitha thinks you use a cat bed.

1. As a hidey-hole
Of course.

We just ordered 35 lbs of Mardi Gras beads as part of a fund raiser, and it's Cat Heaven. Ours thinks it's her new cat bed.

2. I think she just thought you'd gotten her
a rather large hat.

3. My mistake is in sometimes think I can
know what they are thinking. I thought she'd love the bed. And this was in Winter in New England. But this is how she wanted to use it. Every time. LOL. Weird cat.

6. Wow! Cute. Your Tabitha looks just like my Cinder kitty!
I have a Tabitha as well. She's a brown Tabby. My Cinder is a big fat girl who prefers lounging on the couch or on the floor in front of the TV.

Your cat is beautiful and funny!

7. I finally found both of my kitties in their respective beds this morning
I don't have a camera so I couldn't document the event but I was so happy to see them both in them. They looked so cute. One uses hers regularly, but this was the first time I saw the other one in hers.

8. As the temperatures drop, the appropriate use of pet beds increases --
at least at our house!

:hi:

9. My beasties have an electrically-heated bed.
That's how spoiled they are. It's cold tonight, so I think I'll plug it in, see if it attracts any kitties...

10. I used to have a plastic disk you could put in the microwave
and warm up and stick beneath blankies -- it was a BIG attractor. I lost my sweet 19-year-old cat this past summer and so the disk may still be somewhere, but I have no need to find it.

My two big dogs use each other as warmers. :)

11. That picture reminds me of my cat...
Sylvester, who has done the same thing with his cat bed. I have several pix of him burrowing under the cat bed and then balancing the thing on his back. Is your cat a "hider"? Mine is and he will hide under ANYTHING that is available. When we first got him, we came home from shopping to find Sylvester hiding under the tablecloth on the kitchen table. He made a nice lump right in the middle of the table. Wish I had gotten a picture of that.
