Longhair tabby kittens (sorry no pics!)
Last night I was visiting a girlfriend, when I saw these little blurs scoot across the kitchen. Tabby kittens - 1.1 pound, 1.5 pounds and 2.1 pounds - all female. They looked a LOT like the litter Lorien had been fostering.

There is nothing more fun than kitten in the house, unless it's three sister kittens. We watched them play with the Christmas ribbons, and quoted The Onion: "Cat General Says War on String Unwinnable"

Later, I went looking for them, and they were all asleep in a pile under the Christmas tree. I could have SCREAMEd in frustration that we didn't have a camera with us!

As we were having tea, a little head pops up at the living room table to check out what we were up to - bold thing walked right across the dining room table. She ended up falling asleep in the crook of my arm, and you could hear her purring from the other room. The adult cat in the house, a tabby/Siamese mix, was making a point to ignore the interlopers.

I told my friend's 10-year-old daughter to make sure they stopped bringing kittens in from the barn before her mother turned into a Crazy Cat Lady. She got a very serious look on her face, shook her head and said, "I think it's too late, Pattie." My friend is extremely advice-averse, in addition to which she is a recent widow with a big full-time job, two kids, and a house to maintain, so I'll hold off for now on suggesting a trap-and-neuter for the barn cats, but it has to be done. If my S.O. and I lived closer, we'd volunteer to do it ourselves.
