Lorien's beautiful fluffy Maine Coon, any picture of him cheers me up instantly. In fact he makes me just laugh out loud...

Who could resist this guy??

But doesn't my Quinn get any love?

3. The Mighty Quinn is unparalleled in his Mighty Cuteness!
Oberon may be handsome and goofy, but baby Obie can't hold a candle to the power of Quinn's cuteness!

7. His big muzzle never let him have that proper
"kitten" look. He's four months old in the above photos. When I took him to the vet at that age, the vet's assistants couldn't believe that he wasn't full grown!

Quinn, on the other hand, is CLASSICALLY cute in every way! You could sell a Quinn calender on Cafepress and I'm sure it would do really well. ;-)

25. But Quinn is the Pucker King.
I know he's grown into a very handsome cat, but Quinn Baby Pucker Face is about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Oberon is strikingly gorgeous, but he ain't got the pucker.

12. Oberon reminds me of my dear departed Carmine
who I lost four years ago this week due to his eating some lilies that my new boyfriend brought over.

Carmine was big- not as big though - and furry and marked the same as Oberon. He was also dumb as a post but such a lover!!! I miss him.

19. No, Quinn is ETAwful's orange fluffball in post #2
with the classically cute features. I am thinking of adopting another one, though. This 3 year old Turkish Angora is up for adoption at a breeders. Puck needs a playmate with her energy level and intelligence (the other two just can't keep up), and he's been kept in a cage his entire life, poor thing. I don't know how hard it would be to socialize him with the other guys, but I just hate to think of any animal spending it's life in a cage like that. :-(

Aw poor thing! I bet it would adapt eventually. Intelligent animals are highly adaptable. I know Tasha can adapt to just about any new situation.

I have no clue, he was an adoptee from a lady I work with whose best friend's 13 year old stepdaughter had smuggled him and his sister into the house in a vain attempt to raise them in her closet :)

24. Here's a confession
I've always been biased towards short haired cats. I like that you can see their muscles and bone structure; they just seem much more elegant somehow (especially the Asian breeds, like Pad Thai). Both Oberon and Puck wee short haired as kittens, and I always wished that they could stay that way, but I wanted a Turk for it's personality, and Oberon was an "impulse buy", so now I have two longhaired cats!

I love your close up photo of Pad Thai. I think I get so many hits at Catster because of the photos. Since I work at home, I can keep my digital camera handy in case "cuteness strikes". A few successful kitty photo hints:

Find a window with good light (my home only has one; in the guest bedroom). Set up a sleeping area for your cats so they can catch the early morning or late afternoon rays. De-clutter the area if possible, and use a bedding coverlet that's complementary to your kitty's coat color (preferably without a pattern). Get a "fishing pole" cat toy. When kitty settles down in the sunny spot, get down on his level close to the window. Get kitty's attention with the toy and snap away, sans flash (or only use the fill flash). A fully automatic digital camera is the easiest to use; it's best to get a helping hand if you're using a 35mm.

I try to set aside a half hour or more once every month or two to take photos (every month when they were kittens). I take dozens before I get a decent one. My kitty Miro and my late kitty Peewee always hated the camera, so when Peewee passed, I regretted not having more good photos to remember him by. This way, I'm sure that I'll have no regrets in the future, and my (younger) cats have actually learned to enjoy being my "models", so everyone's happy. :-)

It's a peaceful, loving place...there is so much hatred and violence in the world right now. I stopped watching the news, and only peruse the headlines.

Best news lately is Dean as Chair of DNC (probably) tomorrow.

32. oh he was eating it up, let me tell you! I think the three we still
have would still do that except they are so large!!!

We call that the kitten necklace...those are the four boys around his neck: Lewis, Clark, Cat Zilla and Porkchop ( who was adopted out). Miss Moo is snuggled in with old lady Scamp down on his lap.

Alas, Scamp left us shortly after this picture; old age and pain, so we had her put down. I am so glad to have those cute photos of her with the babies. One of the ways we knew it was time to let her go was the fact that when they crawled on top of her she did not even growl.

Moo ran away from home after the boys got so big and they just played too rough with her. She just up and left. I suspect she sweet talked her way into a home somewhere, she was just too cute and sweet. I still miss her.

as big as OBIE and Moo is MIA, and I still miss that little cat. She never lost that "cute" look, she had the market cornered on it, sort of like The Mighty Quinn.

Bad boys, to scare their sister like that. But I love them too

Thanks and Happy Valentines to you.

She was very shy about showing stuff, but her best bud and I convinced her it was OK to do it.

Then when she found out you belong to Oberon and Puck, will that just sealed the deal. She is totally in love with Oberon (duh, like who isn't)

41. She ran away from home. Her brothers were a great deal larger than she,
and they played pretty rough with one another, and of course her, because they really didnt' realize how much smaller she was. So she started going out and staying gone all day, then coming in at night, then she would stay gone two days, then come home. This went on over a period of about 6 weeks, and one day she just did not come back. Her mother did the same thing, after the litter was weaned and she was all healed from her spaying. Apparantly the mom cat thought the kittens were supposed to leave home; they didn't so she did. Moo was with us about another year after her mother left us.

When she would come home, she was fine and cuddly with us, but as soon as she saw one of her three brothers, she would hiss and growl at them and bolt out the pet door. Oh yeah, she was madly in love with our older part Siamese cat, Thomas...she followed him around like a lovesick teenager.

I miss the two little ladies, they were really sweet cats and quite cute, both of them. But we love the boys and the old guy and they all get along wonderfully. They have been all friskiefied tonight, playing and chasing one another like young cats, even the old boy.
