Does anyone else have a Petmate circulating water dish?
I have one for my cat and the pump is no longer working after about 2-3 years. It's been slowly declining in function and I have to move the cord around to get it to work but it only works for a couple minutes. Should they last longer than that? I can order a new pump online (I'm not sure if they have the pump in stores without the whole dish, I'll have to check) but I was wondering if anyone else knew the life span of the pumps. This seems to be an electrical issue, not with the square pump part which I've cleaned out frequently.

Thanks.

1. I have one
I've had it a year an a half or so now, maybe two years. Still working fine. Sorry I can't be of any help.

2. You can take the pump apart and clean it
There are directions on their website:

Of I course I didn't figure this until after I bought a replacement.

3. I've cleaned it many times
The problem seems to be in the cord since I have to move it around to get the pump to work. I'll probably have to just get a new one, maybe the one I have is a dud.

4. If after you unplug it, you can get inside the unit to tighten the cord
connections, then do so, because you don't want to mess with loose connections, or worse, faulty wiring if it takes jiggling the wire to get it to work.

If it is a sealed unit and you cannot tighten connections, then I advise that you get muffin a new waterfall.
