I can only take one (it will be Cokie, I have had her since she was 4 months old).

.
So I have to give up Picasso, who I adopted 2+ years ago.

.
Corey will be staying with friends until I get settled in my new apartment (no more utilities except electric, no more lawn mowing, no more snow shoveling, no more fixing things that broke because the landlord is a scumbag). I can have her, but I think the immediate move will be too much for her so she will be with friends who also have an English Bull Terrier.
.
So if any of my New Jersey friends/members (I do have friends) here want to adopt a great cat, I would rather he go to one of you than have to go to the shelter. And he is a pisser (figuratively). And a bud (he is laying next to me on my desk as I type this).

1. This is a group where we recently adopted two mature cats.
It's in Westchester County NY and is a no kill shelter. Check them out at: http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/cats.html Sarah, who runs Cat Assistance, Inc. may be able to steer you to a non-kill shelter in NJ. Cat Assistance rescues adoptable cats from shelters when they go on the kill list. They have taken dogs, too. Pleas don't drop your kitties off at just any shelter if you care what happens to them.

2. I have made arrangements with the folks I adopted him from
to find him a new home if I fail to do so. Do not worry, he will not be sent to the wrong shelter.

3. I probably sounded a little overly anxious.
You are obviously trying to do the best thing for your animals or you wouldn't be posting here. The boy we adopted (March 1, 2008) had been in the no-kill shelter for 14 months and that was after he went to the maximum time in the SPCA shelter. He is only about 3 years old, but I am told that most people only want to adopt kittens. Once he knew he had a home, he was able to completely relax. Here's a link to Jake on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fe0EqA2RUE :hi:

4. Jake is GREAT, what a sweetie.
My guy had been in tow foster homes before I adopted him. His original owner passed away, and in the beginning it was difficult for him to adapt to my other cat, but he is a sweetie now, and I feel like crap but I was forced to choose between my cats so I need to find him a good home.

He is a meatloaf.

5. What a beautiful boy!
All your kitties look wonderfully well cared for, especially your "meatloaf" boy! There are people out there who would love to have a sweet, big boy like this guy. Hope someone finds him right away. Best of luck to you in your move.
