Entertaining Parrots - A MUST-SEE Video!
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 09:32 PM by Ladyhawk
This short documentary with Dr. Irene Pepperberg and Alan Alda explores the intelligence of parrots and what they give up to live their lives with us. Alex, the famous African grey, is now being studied to find out how we can better entertain brainy birds in our homes.

This video is not to be missed! Scroll down to "Entertaining Parrots" and click on "Play Video."

(There are other interesting programs, too, for later.)

1. I thought that was great, and so did my parrot
She enjoyed it so much in fact that we watched all the films.
Of course this morning, I heard her making monkey sounds...

I tried to show it again this evening and can't get the video for some reason. Probably my own computer for some reason.

Thanks for posting it. I like to use sights like this to entertain my fid.

2. My Senegal likes the part where all the parrots are screeching...
...at Foster Parrots. :) Of course, she would. :)

3. I couldn't get the video to come up.
I'll try again later. I did read the text, and it looks like a good video. I'm familiar with Foster Parrots; I've corresponded with Marc. The place is in MA and when I found out about it I was interested in volunteering there, but it turns out it's a little to far away to be doable. But I may go visit there sometime.
