Not fertilized, she seems okay, but I'm worried about her--any suggestions/help is MUCH appreciated for our little darlin'!

Thank you!

2. There are several. Guess they are busy with politics.
I had some Doves a while back...The female laid eggs a few times, but no babies ever showed up.

If no one responds you can always try Google, or perhaps call a small pet vet.

3. Thanks. Nature's a good doctor; I'm just a really nervous bird mom!
Until now, I thought she was a he; she has very bright cheeks and a beautiful pearl and pied body.

Oops!

4. well congratulations!
I really don't know much about birds. Years ago, I had a pair of zebra finches, who had several young ones. I think that nature is pretty good at doing what they need to do- thinking of my Scottish Terrier, who knew exactly what to do when her litter of pups was born. Good luck!

5. I know nothing about birds, sorry
I love to watch them in the wild.

As far as mating practices, I need 'Birds Do It 101 for Dummies.' :hi:

6. No expert on birds
but do have a lory that lays eggs. We were told to leave her eggs there for at least 30 days and to make sure she gets plenty of calcium. Leaving her eggs just gets her to stop laying for longer periods. (Cuttlebone, calcium rich veggies and supplements are good sources) The calcium is so she doesn't give all hers to the eggs and so she doesn't get egg bound. Crackers was 5 years old when we got her in 1989 and is still with us so guess we have been doing something right. If you bird tries to lay too many eggs or you think she may be low on calcium because of her egg laying it is best to take her to a vet that knows birds. A friend's bird get shots so she won't lay eggs.

7. I'd check with a vet....
but when my cockatiel laid eggs, i was told to remove them. She may be getting too much light, and that is what is signaling to her to lay eggs. she shouldn't get 12 or more hours of light a day. if she lays more than two or three eggs in several days, her calcium could get depleted.

i see someone else has posted to leave the eggs for her ... that's why i suggested you check with a vet, since my advice conflicts.

i had the same situation--we thought she was a he, until one day there was an egg! i didn't find that leaving or taking the egg made her stop laying them, but changing her light cycle did.

good luck!
