**PLEASE HELP ME** I need help.
My life has come to a complete halt: I have seven cats, my husband and I are probably heading toward divorce, neither one of us has jobs, and we both have to relocate because we are in a tiny, dead town.

We've been trying to work on projects, and eking by, but I can't take the no-steady-income stress anymore. Lots of other things, but I can go be with any number of sisters or friends, though I can't bring all my cats, and my husband can't take them, either.

Is there ANYONE in the southeast or mid-Atlantic who would be willing to adopt and love forever one or two of my cats? I currently live in western North Carolina; I can deliver from that area, down to Atlanta, or up to the DC area. Or then over toward Montana/Boise where a friend and one sister live.

I will try to keep 2-3, but I can't have 7. There is one tuxedo male, and then 4 females, all spayed or neutered, recent shots, too.

Please respond to this email or PM me. I will reply as I can; tomorrow I fly home and can reply then, too.

I really need help. I am cross-posting this in few other forums here on DU.

1. Let me recommend advertising on craigslist
I got my dog by posting an ad saying I wanted to adopt a dog after my last dog died. At least 10 people contacted me who needed to rehome their dogs. No money was exchanged, which was good because I had just lost my job too.

3. Many have suggested craigslist.org..
A former neighbor can take 2; I'll keep working on other options. We are in such a SMALL town that I don't think craigslist is really an option - small town away from everywhere. But I'll see. Thank you.

5. If they don't have any listings for your small town, pick the larger one(s) near you.
Maybe you can meet someone half-way?

Good luck - I'm in Arizona or I could probably offer more help!

2. you might also try the local pet shelters
at times I have heard of them taking pets in temporarily until one is back on their feet. I am so sorry about your situation; please take care of yourself, too. Sometimes stress will bring on an autoimmune disease or something else.
Take care and good luck with the critters.

4. the only local no-kill is unable to take more
I live in a rural place that isn't really strong when it comes to care of companion animals. I'll keep trying, though. I have a place to go if I need to, with the cats, for a bit. So at least I can get some sleep tonight. Thanks, blondie58

6. Tried any of these resources in N.C.?
It may require some drive-time to deliver them, but I'll bet one of these
rescue groups will take them.
