Ok, our Vet believes that Milk Chan has Vestibular Disease, based solely on her nystagmus, even though it's a common congenital defect in Siamese that's not connected to Vestibular Disease. I told him this, but he didn't seem to care. He wants to give her ear drops, blood tests, and CAT scans. Ugh.
Also, I believe that Milk has Feline Hyperesthesia, based on her back skin rolling, constant tail swishing, and occasional tail attacking. Also common in Siamese.
There is a veterinary hospital close by with 24 (!!) Vets on Staff, including a neurologist and an opthamologist.
I really want a 2nd opinion on the Nystagmus, and an initial opinion on the Hyperesthesia, BUT, I need a referral for the specialists and I have a feeling my Vet will be offended that I want to go elsewhere. His unwillingness to talk to me about the possibility of Milk's eye condition being simply congenital and not a brain tumor, toxoplasmosis, etc. has me feeling less than confident.
I have a coupon for a free regular Vet appt at this hospital that is good for another week maybe.
Input? Thanks. :)
