Ibu (aka boo-boo) update
Our foster greyhound was neutered yesterday. He had one testicle that had "decended" the other was "undecended" -- this required an additional incision..

He's home and doing fine, a bit sore.

as far as his insomnia goes -- well we tried evicting the cats from the bedroom last night -- not sure how well it will work in the long run, but he only "woke" up once and asked to go out -- this could be because he ate/drank late -- he was on a "fast" before his surgry, and probably still feeling the effects of pain shot

we'll give another try tonight

meanwhile -- this morning our greyhound and old cat(Kudra) both go to their vet -- the greyhound for a yearly physical/booster shots and the old cat for blood work and follow-up for her thyroid/kidney/liver

Kudra seems to be doing ok on the thyroid meds, but the ones for her kidney/liver make her vomit -- we stopped those a couple of days ago -- will see what the vet says today

rest of the critters are doing fine

1. My GSD had an undescended testicle and I had to have the major
surgery involved in having it and the descended one removed. It can be very dangerous not to have it removed.

As far as insomnia..try rescue remedy..holistic. available at health food stores..very calming no side effects.

Do some research about ANNUAL boosters. Research now shows that every 3 years is adequate coverage for shots, and if the pet is elderly or sick, you should consider not giving any vaccinations at all. Too many vaccinations do more harm than too few.

2. thanks for the info
our vet subscribes to the every 3 years boosters...

IBU is doing good -- things are healing up well. The undecended testicle was "near by" so surgry wasn't all that bad -- no hunt and seek to find it.

Now we have to deal with a case of tape worm. He and another GH, that came from the group being fostered, were diagnosed with tape worm shortly before their arrival and were treated for it -- but both of them now need a second round of meds -- will be picking those up today from the vet
