Has anyone ever had to help their fish die?
My poor Silver Dollar fish has been trying to die all day.
She's laying on the bottom of the tank (I thought she was dead at first) then she swims for a minute, than lays on the bottom of the tank. It's been going on all day.

I did a little research and I guess there are times when you have to help your fish die.
There's all these different techniques....from chopping their head off (nope - can't do it), to putting it in a cup and sticking it in the freezer! to putting it in a blender! to using clove oil, which I don't have.

Just looking for a little DU advice. A nice, humane way to help my little fishy die peacefully.

I wonder if I'm the only one that gets this emotional about a fish.

3. What did you do? Put the fish in a bowl and then into the freezer?
Petsmart told me to freeze the fish too :(

But, they also told me to try and save her....that some fish bounce back.
So I will wait a day or two.

This is awful.

4. Yeah, I stuck him in a sytrofoam bowl in the freezer
Some fish do bounce back. This one has looked half-dead with bloat quite a few times.
