My Abyssinians Moe and Maggie
These are my kitties, Moe and Maggie. They are bother and sister and they are 11 years old. Their mom was a red and their dad a ruddy.

Aren't they the cutest! :-)

Moe giving me "face"

Maggie giving me "foot"

1. Cute as can be!
Here's my Lily: Mother was a ruddy Abby and Daddy was a brown tabby.

2. Very cute.
I love the foot that Maggie is giving you. She looks very serious. Your cats are beautiful.

5. Adorable!
could you tell us a little about the Aby personality? I've been searching for a kitty to adopt that would make a good playmate for my Turkish Angora Puck (an intelligent breed that remains very active throughout their life), and Abysinnians and Somalis (long haired Abys) have been suggested to me as a good match. What are your thoughts?

6. Well I really think Abbys need a lot of area
Lily hasn't really adapted to Pad Thai very well. I really wouldn't say they are good going into a home, or facing new animals as adults. However, Lily accepted my two male kitties (Luci was one) when she was a kitten. She did face him off though in being close to me. She is very competitive and jealous and does not give and ground to other kitties.

8. Hi Lorien
:hi:

Abys are all in all extremely affectionate. They are great lap cats. Moe is more outgoing with people and other animals, while Maggie is a little shy. We have a doxie Molly - you might have seen my previous posts. She is the one in the cart. Moe adjusted extremely well to Molly when we got her. Took Maggie a while - think it was a female against female thing. Maggie became a little more bold after Molly lost the ability to walk. The fear was gone.

Abys are prone to gingivitis, so watch out for that.

I think adopting an aby would work out just fine. Please let me know what you decide.

9. Thanks for the info
Turks are insanely affectionate too; when Puck gets it in her head that she wants some lovin' there's no denying her! She'll even ride around on my shoulder while I do housework sometimes. I think Maggie's attitude simply comes from being a female cat-most males of any breed are more outgoing and laid back than the females (I was told that Puck was male when I got her, and I didn't find out the truth until she went in to be neutered and came back spayed)! I check petfinder every so often for Abys and Somalis, but of course what they have listed as Abys aren't Abys at all 9 times out of 10 (a tuxedo Aby? A gray tabby Aby? I think not )! So I guess I'll keep checking the breeder sites for retired showcats, and we'll see!

:hi:

7. I could handle being bossed around by a "face" like that.
That is a wonderful picture. Real quality. (Msggie's
great too, but Mo's picture is just closer.)
