Hi y'all. Long time no see :-)
I'm still volunteering at Whiskerville. I haven't had any new fosters in a long time because I am a failure at fostering... I fall in love with the ones who don't get adopted and run out of space. I am down to 7 cats from a high of 13. None of these are up for adoption anymore. And I won't foster anymore (unless it is for a guaranteed short term, like when the shelter had a URI going around) because I know I'll get attached. LOL

Anyway, I fell out of this group for a while, so I just thought I would pop back in and say hi and see how y'all are doing.

:hi:

2. Whiskerville has been going throug a very difficult time...

You know the old saying.... no good deed goes unpunished.

But at least we always have the reward of grateful furkids who don't listen to lies.... they only care that they are off the street and in a cozy, loving place.

rules in Wydell's favor.

9. Thanks.... what really bothers me is that she is suing a NON-PROFIT rescue....
the ONLY 100% no-kill rescue in the region. IN my opinion, she is killing animals with this suit, as surely as if she did it with her own bare hands. I hope someday she will encounter a situation in which she feels the same amount of anguish she is causing.

And really, that is all I can say. Her minions and her lawyer have been scouring the net for anything said about the case, threatening libel (or slander - I get them mixed up), etc.

5. One of our local GSD REscues is also being sued.
They cannot take in any more abandoned dogs until the suit is settled...so sad.

6. I made a bio for my pet sitter so she could tell who was who when I went
out of town 6 months ago.

Sadly, the reason I am down to 7 from 8 is because Michelle got out and I found her on the road... I sure miss that crazy thing :(

The bio is in a word doc...

7. I am so sorry about Michelle......Your feline pack is gorgeous!!!!
I lost my Mommycat a few months back..who I had since she found was found with her kitten..eyes still closed..about 16 years ago. I knew it would not be good for her Baby,...since they had been together so long...and about a month ago..Baby left me too. I know she missed her Mommy. I buried them next to each other in the garden. I still cry when I think of them. I was only supposed to "hold" them until we found a good home....LOL. Famous last words.
I am now down to only 4 cats.

8. Yeah, I have two of momma's babies. One is a "people-cat"
but the other, Fabi, was momma's little shadow. She followed her around, and wanted nothing to do with me. She always would stand next to momma and wrap her tail around momma's tail... so precious. The only time she will let me pet her is when I am leaning down to put down their canned food. She seems so lost without her. I am trying really hard to walk that fine line between trying harder to get her to warm up, and freaking her out with too much attention.

Momma was wild when I trapped her, and about a week away from giving birth. At that time, she would allow me to pet her on the head if I was feeding her, but no more. But over the past few years, she learned about playing, about toys, about how nice a belly rub was, and had finally started sleeping next to me now and then. She was still kind of schizo, and would freak out at sudden movements, but she seemed to finally be turning into a real house cat.

I miss that crazy thing.

11. can't see this
Do I need MS Word to view this? If so, I don't have it any longer, just an old version. Hmmm ... ?

Sorry to hear about the lawsuit. I just don't get it!

12. I did it in open office, so it should open in word or the open office writer.
I'll see if there is an easy way to convert it to something else.
