One mo' time....
As soon as I can find my camera, I will post a picture of baby RAVEN. :loveya:

No, she's not a bird, she's a kitten.

Black (of course, look at the sig line!), DSH little girl.

If she's nine weeks, she's small for her age (1 lb, 6 oz), looks more like 6 weeks...but I have the paperwork from the shelter stating she was born on May 21st.
"A miracle kitten" they said...apparently her feral mama was due to be spayed the very next day (they didn't realize she was THAT pregnant, I suppose), but went into labor early.

Raven has a lot to say in a rather hoarse voice, is very intelligent, into EVERYTHING, and loves shiny stuff. :bounce:

She approved the name by running to me with happitail when I called her "Raven" and asked "How 'bout that...is 'Raven' your name?" and seems to be responding to it.

Got the Feliway up and diffusing. The boys aren't happy, but I've got a recurring bronchitis, so I'm not exactly the devoted cat servant I usually am either. x(
Figured they'd appreciate a baby sister more than a baby brother if we were going to try this again...and it's been my experience that males and females divvy up territory differently.

1. I'm very happy for you and wish you well..
on your new kitty. Please don't take this the wrong way, but could you possibly keep her inside until she is at least 5-6 months so that a repeat of what happened to your last kitty does not happen again? That kitten was way too small and young to be out on his own. I've had cats/kittens for 20 years and they have all been indoor kitties. I live in suburban Virginia, so it's a little more crowded than Montana, but I still think that it's too dangerous for cats to be outside and at the mercy of the elements/mean, crazy people/wildlife. Good luck with little Raven and I hope that she integrates well into your clowder.

3. Definitely YES
Shimrod was not supposed to be outside without supervision. I thought I'd told my guest that before I went off to work, but either I didn't or he forgot and when Shimrod asked for door service...

I'm sure I did though...I'm kinda OCD about things like that.
