Do you ever watch Animal Cops on Animal Planet?
I've been watching it lately. It's a very interesting show, but it's also hard to watch some of these cases of naked animal cruelty. Sometimes I just want to put my fist through the TV screen. On tonight's episode the Humane Society caught a man who cut off his dogs ears with a pair of scissors. This guy and othe animal abusers deserve the death penalty, or at least to be sent to a Third World prison and introduced to Mr. Plunger.

1. yeh, i watched it too
glued to the tv for three straight hours... i can tell it's a bit of amateur production, but they do a damned good job!

i feel so sorry for those animals... especially the ones they have to put to sleep...

did you see the house that had 90 cats in it??? feces up to your knees!

they euthonized all but one of the cats... so sad.

people are really fucked up

2. I tried to watch it
but I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about those poor animals and wicked pet owners - just too upsetting for me. But it's comforting to know that animal cops are out there - what a difficult job that must be (but rewarding too)

3. Can't watch specifically due to the cruelty you mentioned.
Can't sit thru the bad parts even if I know there is a happy ending.

4. Hi bluestateguy
I'm a volunteer for the Michigan Humane Society and I watch it every chance I get! Wasn't that awful about the dog with no ears/bad ear-cropping x(

P.S. I have met most of those cops, and they are the nicest people you would ever want to meet!

AFSCME girl :hi:

5. My best friends shelter will be featured next! (AZ HS)
Her shelter, the Arizona Humane Society, will be on next - they're shooting now and plan to stay another 16-17 months.

She says she knows of one event which is guaranteed to make it - a runaway ostrich, which ended up attacking the animal control people. No one seriously hurt, but it made for some drama!
