What is your dream pet?
Is there any type of pet that you don't already have that you've dreamed about adding to your family?

I think silver Somalis are beautiful, and I've read that they have great personalities, too:

I saw a Belgian Shepherd in Switzerland that was just stunning. I'd love to adopt one someday:

Although I don't approve of keeping wild animals as pets, I did fall in love with a pair of foxes at the natural history museum in Cleveland years ago. I visited them daily and fed them each a few goldfish crackers at lunchtime. They always got so excited when they saw me coming! It's quite something to see those huge fluffy tails wagging like that!

1. I like Maine Coon Cats

This is not my picture.

Maine Coons are so big and fluffy and pretty and SMART! I've always wanted one of those.

3. I had wanted a Lynx-point Siamese since I was a child

But when a Siamese needed a home he was a Lilac point instead. He does have a striped tail, and I tell him he did that just for me.

6. Kitty! So THAT's what my sister's cat was?
She found Kitty as a stray. Kitty was pregnant and had seven. From that litter I got my very first cat, Killer, whom I lost two years later. Kitty also had Harriet and Martha, whom my sister kept. Martha passed a few years ago; Harriet, early last year.

What sweet and beautiful kitties those Lynx-point Siamese are!

5. If we could have a dog, I would get a rescued greyhound.
But alas, we can't have a dog. We don't have room, or time to give it the attention it would require.

Oh, and there's that other thing, about the cats.

Harry and Daddy are my dream pets. :)

9. if I could have a dog..
I'd like an Egyptian Pharoah dog. I really liked the breed when I watched the WKC championship on tv. I like Dobermans. I thought the Komodors - they look like mops on the move - were pretty cool too but I think you need to spend half your life fussing with their dredlocks.

As to cats, more Russian Blues and perhaps a Havana Brown. I think my Razputin is genetically very similar to a Havana, since they were bred from siamese and he is a siamese-mix. He has brown whiskers too, which only Havanas have and looks quite similar to them except for those white toes.

I just don't know if my hands could take all the hand-stripping involved in keeping them looking good.

14. How about a cat that doesn't wake me up at 4am?
Edited on Fri May-27-05 02:44 PM by Patiod
Running back and forth over my head, touching my nose with her paw or combing my hair, knocking everything (including the alarm clock and the water glass) off the nightstand, shredding magazines on the floor next to the nightstand, knocking pictures off vanity.

Close the bedroom door, you say?

Ah, but then a) she's locked away from her litterbox and b) she spends a solid 90 minutes throwing herself against the door at full speed (I've timed her) My SO calls it a battle of wits against an opponent with a brain the size of a walnut, and she wins every time.

Water gun? No, did that, and just had a wet cat running back and forth across my head.

You can see the evil in her eyes:

What's your opinion of the Nutro brand? I'm feeding my cats the "indoor cat" formula. Some people say that their stuff is as good as Wellness, while others say they don't like it. What do you think?

Here's their site: http://www.nutroproducts.com/completecare.asp
