Free cats! or the other thing
Unfortunately, we have two cats we need to get rid of ASAP. They aren't playing nicely with other cats and our child. We have 4 cats currently and have a 17lb male cat that was babied early on and now is attacking our other cats causing one to pee on the carpet.

We have spent tons on kitty prozac, homeopathic remedies and other things. We have another baby due in 5 weeks and the situation is going to get worse.

We have set a date to put those two down and really don't want to do it, but nobody wants the middle aged cats, 9 and 6.

Anybody want some cats in Indiana?

1. is there a Pet Smart or PetCo near you?
They do kitty displays and help place cats.

Contact a no kill shelter right away, ask your vet if there is one near you. These shelters place the kitties @ the pet stores.

2. Go here:
www.petfinder.com type in your zip code, then do a search as if you are looking for a cat that fits the description of the ones you have. The shelters that come up will take in the two you have. Please don't put down two healthy cats just because they haven't worked out for you. In the right environment, they may be perfect companions for someone else (by the way; I'm adopting a middle aged dog tomorrow, and one of my cats was ten when I took him in-so don't assume that they are unwanted by everyone)!

3. Go to YahooGroups.com
Register and then put in a search for animal rescue groups in your area. You can post at them and possibly find a rescue that will foster them until they can find homes. I have found homes for three cats this way.

4. How did you end up in this situation?

Are you getting rid of the older cats so you can keep the kittens? If so I can't say you are acting very responsibly. Please stop adopting more pets than you can handle. There is a limit and you owe it to the older cats to make a go with them and try to find homes for the kittens.
