Registration is now open for Democracy Fest!

Democracy Fest, a gathering of progressives from around the country, will be held June 17-19 in Austin. There will be workshops, campaign training, nationally recognized speakers, and great entertainment. The $55 cost includes training materials provided on CD, a Democracy Fest T-shirt, breakfast on Saturday, and dinner and a celebration of Texas music on Saturday night.

1. I'm dying to go -- anyone else?

I went last year, and it was awesome -- although I went with my non-political husband and kids in tow, so I didn't get to participate as much as I would have liked to. I need to look into flights to Austin, but I'm really hoping to go this year. This time, I'll leave the family at home so I get to have the "whole experience."

Right here in my back yard so to speak. Y'all come down now ya hear. We'll treat you right. Don't be scared of Texas. Austin, TX (Travis County) was one of the bluest counties in Texas. That's right, the heart of TX (capital) is solid blue. We hate george bu$h as much as any other blue-staters.

Everyone is welcome and a good time is guaranteed. Looking forward to meeting some DUers from out of state. We should get a DU caucus meeting in there somewhere.
